Megafun was engaged to provide the operations and technical services to the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2015 Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea.
Celebrating both the games of the Pacific Nations of Polynesia, Melanesia and Micronesia, as well as the 40th year of Papua New Guinea’s independence, the 2015 Pacific Games were held in Port Moresby in July 2015. The opening and closing ceremonies were one of the highlights of the games, being televised internationally.
The ceremonies involved over 1000 indigenous PNG artists and performers and a team of local craftspeople and builders who delivered the sets, costumes and supporting infrastructure for this celebration of one of the most diverse cultures in the world.
