Melbourne Water has been a significant client for Megafun for nearly a decade
With public displays and school programmes at both its Western and Eastern Treatment plant, plus the Edithvale Discovery Centre and a large community engagement imperative, Melbourne Water has an ongoing requirement for engaging interactive and educational displays and exhibits.
Megafun has undertaken numerous large and small scale projects for Melbourne Water including, the exploration of the flight of a droplet of water in Raincheck, the subterranean world of the sewers in Sewer Tour, an examinations of the workings of the Sugarloaf Water Treatment works, live high magnification viewing of water birds at the Edithvale Wetlands and portable “Lego” cities that explain the nature of runoff and stormwater.
A major highlight has been a huge 10m wide aerial photo of all of Melbourne that shows all of Melbourne Water’s infrastructure and pipe works, presented in a way that allows kids and other visitors to walk all over the map, exploring their neighborhood and identifying the pipes and drains in their areas.
