AAMI Park Opening

AAMI Park in Melbourne opened with a celebration of its remarkable roof structure, using a creative laser display and a promenade of glowing spheres.

Megafun devised and delivered the technical and illumination elements of this event.

Working closely with Oracle Lasers, 24 independent lasers were set around the perimeter of the stadium and were carefully programmed to “stroke” the triangular facets created by the unusual roof layout.

These triangular patterns were then incorporated into an overall display that highlighted and celebrated the architecture.  With the addition of illuminated spheres which once again referenced the overall roof shape, and artists such as Melbourne’s Strange Fruit, the overall effect was one that delivered a true sense of occasion with a strong element of artistic flair.
